Brooch It

I'm wearing pants again this week, and they are totally growing on me. Although they are jeans, I think they are work appropriate because of the dark wash and trouser cut. My school does not have a strict dress code, but I prefer to not wear jeans to work on a regular basis and to just keep it to casual Fridays. This thrifted silk shirt feels dreamy to wear, has a beautiful print, and even matches my also thrifted two-tone shoes! This belt is another recent $6 buy from J. Crew. I like how it adds a touch more color to the outfit.

  1. I love the brooch! Very classy. The whole look is very Katherine Hepburn.

  2. again i will say pants on you are perfect. Love these jeans are you. most flattering cut on you especially with heels. The heels give it a dressy yet still casual look and polish it up more than flats would.

  3. When I was teaching public school in IL we were never allowed to wear jeans. Only on work days when no children were present. This was my principal's policy for our school only in the district. You look great though:)I love wearing my grandmother's jewelry. My mom and sister do not like/wear jewelry so lucky me I got it all. I wore one of her clear crystal bracelets today. I think my favorite piece is a yellow topaz ring though. Glad you have her brooch:) Thanks for sharing.

  4. I LOVE that you are wearing your grandmother's brooch! I have a funky butterfly pin that I got from my Great-grandmother (who I knew quite well because she passed away when I was 24), and I wear it all the time. It's such a fun way to remember her.
