Willy-Nilly Milly

I knew this skirt was too good to be true. I thrifted this beautiful tweed Milly skirt the other week for $3, and from all outward appearances I thought I had hit the jackpot. But as I was walking up the school stairs to get to my classroom this morning I noticed far too much of a chilly breeze climb up my skirt. As it turns out the vent is cut much too high for my comfort level, and I didn't notice it in my rush this morning. It's definitely not scandalous, but it is not appropriate for teaching. I probably would have been OK with it if I was wearing my super opaque black wool tights (which I almost wore) or if I had a long jacket on, but sadly I ended up spending the rest of the day with my cardigan tied around my waist. Lesson learned, and my pile of clothes that need to go to the tailor grows.

    1. Aww, thanks! The pattern is beautiful and very striking. But bummer about the back vent!

  2. Gorgeous skirt! In the interim, could you DIY and tack down the top part of the vent using a slip stitch?

  4. That happened to me once too! A super nice, designer dress found at a thrift store. But when I wore it and went to write on the board, I noticed a breeze in a really inappropriate place.

    1. What is up with these designers-don't they realize that teachers want to wear their clothes too?! I feel your pain, and I hope that draft doesn't happen again!
